Not A Revival

For this project, I was drawn to the upright cursive lettering found on French sheet music covers from 1830-1845. Based on the ‘Ronde’ calligraphic model, this style is created with a flat nib at a 45° angle. I wanted to explore the rhythm, movement, and forms but create a different aesthetic. I removed all curves and redesigned it using only straight lines, reinterpreting the Ronde’s structure while preserving its core essence.
